US airlines cancel over 1,000 flights due to Northeast storm warnings
<body><p>STORY: Airlines in the United States have canceled or delayed thousands of flights during peak holiday travel on Friday due to severe winter storm warnings.</p><p>That's according to flight tracking website FlightAware.</p><p>The site reported that more than 1,100 flights had been canceled as of midday Friday, and over 3,800 flights had been delayed.</p><p>The National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings which it said would cause, quote, "hazardous travel conditions for the Great Lakes into the northern Mid-Atlantic and southern New England" regions through Saturday morning.</p><p>By Friday afternoon, JetBlue had canceled 225 flights, the most among U.S. carriers.</p><p>It was followed closely by Delta, which canceled 186 flights.</p><p>Republic Airways, American Airlines and United Airlines also canceled several flights.</p><p>Some airports, such as New York's John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia, and the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, also put out posts on X warning travelers of potential delays or cancellations.</p></body> Dec 26, 2025 - $DAL

More than 1,600 flights across the US had been canceled as of Friday afternoon, according to the FlightAware website. JetBlue Airways Corp. was the carrier with the most cancellations on Friday, with more than 200, according to FlightAware.
